Words of wisdom...

I ran across this quote today, and it goes on my list of favorite quotes:

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it."

-Mark Twain

My dad always says he's a patriot - I think this is exactly what he means by it - he just doesn't say it quite so well. I think we should all keep this quote in mind.

I love this quote and I plan on using it the next time a conservative tells me, “Well if you don’t like Bush why don’t you leave and move to Canada”. This quote underscores in a lot of ways what it truly means to be an American: not blindly following orders, but to truly examine the actions of your government and hold them accountable for their actions (good and bad) because you care deeply about this country.

Hmm… I may have to blog about this in further detail…..
